Creole Okra and Tomatoes

1/2 cup butter
1 large onion, minced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
1 quart fresh okra, sliced
4 tomatoes, coarsely chopped
salt to taste
black pepper to taste

Melt butter in large skillet; add onion and saute over medium heat until soft. Add bell pepper, okra and tomatoes; season to taste. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
